What is "FoodState"?
A supplement that is the closest you can get to food.
Why FoodState?
The human body is at top of food chain. It is designed to absorb and utilise minerals that have passed through a vegetable and hence have been transformed into complicated chemicals in association with other natural substances. It is not designed to recognise minerals straight from the soil, nor from the water we drink, nor chemicals as isolated substances.
If we look at the digestive system as a separating machine that identifies anything that could be considered a natural food, in its natural form, we can begin to understand the usefulness of a supplement that is in a food like state.
We are part of a food chain, at the top of it, in fact. The gut is designed to recognise minerals that have been processed by a vegetable, not those straight out of the ground or in natural water. This can be explained in chemical terms as the gut needing minerals in an organic form (associated with carbon), rather than in an inorganic form (associated with acids). Minerals extracted straight from the ground, such as Dolomite, and also those in the water that we drink, are not in an organic form. They are thus only poorly absorbed, and the body has difficulty in utilising them.
Some of these inorganic minerals can even do harm in the body. The body may attempt to deal with their adverse impact by depositing them out of the way in the cells. Inorganic Calcium, such as Calcium Carbonate, is an example. This kind of Calcium, in particular, "hardens" cell walls and can become one of the constituents of such things as gallstones, kidney stones, osteo-arthritis and hardened arteries.
In an attempt to compensate for this, these inorganic minerals are sometimes artificially combined with acids, such as citric acid (to make a citrate) or ascorbic acid, (to make an ascorbate) in a chemical manufacturing plant. Another method is to make "orotates". However, they are still not what are found in nature. Any such product can be regarded as an "isolated substance", compared with the "combinations" that occur naturally.
Because they are not really like food, we have to take large amounts of them in order to get adequate amounts absorbed by the gut, much higher amounts than would be needed in the food form. Moreover, they have to be swallowed with food in order for them to be absorbed at all.
There are receptor sites in the gut for each mineral and vitamin, as it is found in food. These receptor sites act as control gates, allowing its mineral or vitamin to be absorbed only if the body needs it. It can be likened to jigsaw puzzle pieces, which slot into each other perfectly. As soon as the body has absorbed sufficient of any vitamin or mineral, its receptor sites close down to prevent further absorption. It can only do this if the jigsaw pieces fit together accurately enough.
FoodState supplements are close enough to nature to allow this to happen. The isolated substances are not. Consequently, the isolated substances bypass these control mechanisms. They do not fit the "jigsaw" patterns accurately enough for the body to stop absorption once it has received enough. Some of these supplements also "fight" with each other for absorption at receptor sites or just because they are in the gut together. This has led to guidelines as to what not to take with others. None of these guidelines apply to FoodState.
Once these isolated substances are absorbed, the body can have difficulty in utilising them accurately. It may be able to take them into biochemical pathways, whereas it has trouble ejecting them from the pathways, leading to a build-up. The body may also have trouble eliminating them efficiently, thus leading to toxic build-up.
With FoodState supplements, which are close enough to food composition for the body to treat them as food, the opposite is true. There is no worry therefore regards overdosing, or toxic build-up, or taking "wrong" combinations, as long as they are in combinations that occur in nature. They can also be swallowed at any time and still be absorbed. They are also the only mineral supplements, apart from very good quality orotates, that can cross the cell wall, so they reach a different level in the body.
The closer to nature our food is, the more easily it is absorbed and utilised in the body. Even cooking is a process, and thus potentially changes the original form and makes it less nutritious for us, though by this I do not mean that we should never cook food! What I am saying is the food, once cooked, is one step away from nature and thus less easily recognised by the body as food. It is the same principle with FoodState supplements. Why take supplements totally devoid of natural patterns, when you can take FoodState?
How it's done
The usual vitamin/mineral is fed into a vat of "growing" medium. This puts the food chain step in, but in a much quicker way than growing a fruit or vegetable. The product of this "growing" step is put through another process to break down all the cell walls of the growing medium. This destroys all the polypeptides present. Without these polypeptides, there is little chance of allergic reactions.
The Result
The result is a supplement that is very unlikely to give allergic reactions, which the body recognises, absorbs and utilises as food.
The Advantages
The FoodState supplement is a lot more bioavailable in the gut than isolated substances. They don't have to be taken with food - they are food. Some people prefer this, as they find that taking supplements with food affects their appetite. It also gives the freedom to remember taking them any time of day.
The body can use them much more efficiently - we don't have to take vast quantities to get benefit in the body. The amounts needed are much more akin to the kind of quantities you would expect to find in food. Absorption is in much higher proportions, and the supplements can be used in the body's chemical processes more easily because they fit the molecular patterns more precisely. They can also be ejected from metabolic pathways very efficiently, so there is less likelihood of backlog accumulating. It has been found experimentally that Thiamin Hydrochloride, the chemical substance that is loosely called B1, can block metabolic pathways in certain children.
The body can control the amount that it absorbs, because it does not bypass the control mechanisms in the gut. The shape of the food like supplement is similar enough to food for the receptor sites to be able to close down on excess. This means that the body will only absorb what it can use. To get maximum use of what is swallowed therefore it is much better to take smaller amounts several times a day rather than one larger amount daily.
FoodState are virtually the only supplements that cross the cell wall. The only exception to this is a very good quality Orotate, such as the ones that Cytoplan supplies, but even these are isolated substances and cannot have the same effect as food.
FoodState are the only supplements with co-factors present. FoodState Vitamin B12 has intrinsic factor present, and has been shown to support B12 levels in the blood of some patients with pernicious anaemia.
